Airtel Payments Bank Attracts One Lakh Customers To Open Savings Bank Accounts In Uttar Pradesh In Just 2 Weeks

Airtel Payments Bank is the India's first Payments Bank as advertised by Airtel. Airtel Payments Bank started its operations on January 12, 2017 at Delhi. Airtel Payments Bank achieved a milestone of One Lakh Savings accounts in Uttar Pradesh State within first two weeks of its launch. Airtel has around 12000 retailers across the state which can become Banking Points for depositing and with drawing cash. All over India, Airtel has 2,50,000 retailers and this number is more than total number of ATMs present. Airtel wants to make this 6,00,000 .

More than 60% of accounts opened in Uttar Pradesh are from rural areas. Airtel tied up with MasterCard network to enable Airtel Payments Bank Online Debit Card suitable transactions with Flipkart, Amazon, Ubar and all. Shashi Arora , MD & CEO of Airtel Payments Bank said "With this momentum, we want to take these services deeper into the State and contribute towards financial inclusion and banking for all".

Airtel Payments Bank customer can avail IVR ( Interactive Voice Response ) and USSD ( Unstructured Supplementary Service Data ) services in 12 local languages. Customer can dial *400# for USSD or simply call 400 or 8800688006 for IVR banking options. Airtel already has committed Rs. 3000 crore for establishing and expanding Digital Banking Services across the nation.
