Google Family Link Parental Control App Available On Android and iOS Devices To Keep an Eye On Children Activity

Google has introduced a new "Family Link" parental control app in US. Without an invitation, users in US can access this application. Through this app, parents can control and manage their child's usage in Android devices. This app is compatible with Android devices running Kit Kat (4.4) and higher as well as iPhones running iOS9 and higher.

Family link provides a facility to the parents to watch their children usage in Android systems remotely.  Googles Family Link let the parent to manage their kids' device by creating a google account right from the set up beginning. Google also will ask for parent permissions if their children are below 13 years.  After creation of google account, Family Link will be downloaded in their Child's device. Parents can select the apps and other things which will be needed to their kids Android system.

Through Family Link, parent also can block the desired apps and other settings that are downloaded by their kids. Parent can watch their child's usage reports daily or monthly and they can also set up screen time outs daily. They can lock their kids device remotely when ever they want.

Things that are possible with Google Family Link

  • Allow / Restrict apps

  • Set Screen Time limits

  • Set bedtime to say 9 pm daily

  • Set content filters for Google Search to filter adult / obscene content

  • Remote locking of device / phone
